James Fox
I’m James, a Camera Assistant, Operator, Camera Guarantee and Videographer with a lifelong passion for film and visual storytelling.
I’ve been behind a camera since I was 11, a curiosity that led me to study Filmmaking at the University of Plymouth, where I graduated with First Class Honours. During my studies, I invested in my own kit and built hands-on experience across a wide range of videography work — from short films and interviews to weddings, nightclub aftermovies and music festivals.
Alongside this, I began working in television as a Runner on shows including In For a Penny, Happy Campers and The Great Big Tiny Design Challenge. These roles gave me the opportunity to learn directly from Camera Operators and DOPs, and helped me break into the camera department.
Since then, I’ve worked as a Second AC on the feature film And Then Come the Nightjars, BBC’s Bargain Hunt, and Casualty, before securing a full-time Camera role at EMG UK, Europe’s leading OB company. Through EMG, I’ve worked on major live and broadcast events across the UK and internationally, including the Premier League, EUROs, BAFTAs, Six Nations, DP World Tour Golf, Trooping the Colour and the Queen’s Funeral.
I currently work as a Digital Content Producer for the Ladies European Tour, creating high-end digital content for elite women athletes. Using top-of-the-range equipment, I film and produce stories, narratives and hype content that brings the tour to life across digital platforms.
I’m driven, adaptable, and passionate about what I do — and I’m always excited to collaborate on the next project.
